OK, the deal was this... My wife attracted this stray cat with a bowl of milk after our last dog died from old age. She said, "Oh, Honey, look... What are we going to do with it?" I thought, "Call the animal catcher?" But I did not say it...
12 years later...
The cat lived in the back yard/garage for a few years with a "No Indoor" policy in force. My wife said that she, "Couldn't take the cat hair." This rule was only a temporary setback for the cat, as it began to use feline ju-ju on my wife and I. Only cat owners/staff can understand this phenomena. The result... Now, she comes in the house at will.

So it's a cat blog now? Well this bloke lobbed into our lives 12 years ago too and worked his Ju-Ju in record time. As you can see, he's taken over everything!
Cats are very good at picking staff, uh, owners.
Love the picture! Nice lighting effects.
And there's nothing more peaceful than a relaxed cat.
It reflects well on your character.

Cats were once worshiped as gods and they've never forgotten that.
We have a dog that must be all of 6 inches tall and when we got it a strict "no going out of the kitchen until it's toilet trained" policy was in force. Four months later, the carpet is a mess. The thing's too cute for its own good.
Great photo.

My miniature schnauzer is in love with my 8 year old calico. She tolerates him but wants nothing to do with the pointer. She sits outside the boys room until I open the door for her so she can sit in the bedroom window and survey her kingdom. The only time she is nice to me is when she is hungry.
She has you in her power now. Beware.

What a beautiful cat. There is nothing more sweet than being owned by a cat. What is her name?
Rudyard Kipling explains all (why the cat is allowed in, against all better judgement) in 'The Cat Who Walks Alone, and All Places are Alike to Him', in the book The Just So Stories. I agree with Lee, it does reflect well.
Dave, you will enjoy this 'Cat Alarm Clock' animation on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEmQHkdBHr0.
Bewared the cunning of the puddytat! :)
Yeah, that's the way it is. Our (wife's) cat predates our marriage by 3 or 4 years and is about 19 years old now and in failing health. Funny thing, if one of the kids has a stomachache for 3 days, "they'll get over it", but if the cat sneezes, it's immediately whisked off to the vet for a $100 consultation and $200 worth of lab tests....
I love this story - and the comments. I agree, it does reflect well on your character, Dave - and also that of your readers by their comments. Interesting and clever photo too, with the puss's head shape repeated as a shadow.
I've read that God made dogs to give us a good boost to our self-esteem - and then made cats to keep us humble!
Really a nice picture Dave. However I couldnt help to think of the similarity between that photo and this famous symbol...

Hey Dave, I've just taught our cat to fetch, like a dog! This proves that you can teach a cat any trick she wants to learn!
Heh...the cat that decided I was her person is sitting on my lap as I type this. Feline Ju-Ju, eh? So, *that's* what it's called :-)
I'm a dog person as well...just to be balanced on the cat/dog spectrum
For the love of cats. I was living in a two bedroom in Tempe with two other roommates awhile back. One of the roommates had gotten us to agree to living with one cat and a smelly litter box. A stray kitten was found on the steps one day and soon it was 3 guys two cats and a small litter box in one two bedroom. They take control...
if you feed it, it's yours.
Any one else have a cat named F.O.D.? My wife Kandy brought it home from her EMS base at the airport. It had lived there for a year before one of the male nurses decided he didn't like cats. Well F.O.D. joined the 2 other cats already living with us. Being the cleaner of the litter box I wasn't amused. Seems the amount of cat poo goes up like the ratio of speed to parasite drag. Funny how that doesn't seem to matter when they are curled up on your lap on a cold night.
Love the blog. I've added it to the list of blogs I read and look forward to coming back often.

I can't forget the cats:FOD, Sherby, and Wilbie
